IMPORTANT: We will not be setting up the raised runway today. We will be using the all weather track surface because the wind will be a tailwind tonight.

Hello everyone. On June 25th we will have our first of 3 summer vault competitions. We will start the registration at 4 pm, runway opens at 5 pm, and the bar goes up at 6 pm. I currently have all the dates and events posted up on the website. Please share the link to as many people as you can. Our school is looking to buy some new poles this year and this will be our main source of income for poles. I am looking forward to seeing as many people come and jump as possible. THERE IS NO AGE LIMIT. All participants will be able to pay with cash, check, or card. Please make checks out to Smithville Track and Field.

Here is the weather update:
The weather for the high jumpers in the morning will be sitting in the high 70's low 80's and the pole vaulters will get the heat of the day with the high being 95 degrees. There is a chance for a stray thunderstorm during the day as well. The sun will rise at 5:53 am and set at 8:50 pm.

ABOUT KIEFER SMITH
I was just a child when I first dreamt of becoming a professional track athlete. Ever determined and never willing to give up on the dream and sport I loved, I sacrificed much, enduring times of challenge and hardship, and I was un able to reach the ultimate dream. Along the way I was able to realize that there are many forms of this dream I have thought of many time. Now my dream is to teach all I know about Pole Vault and other disciplines. My dream now is to education the safety of the pole vault and show all athletes how much fun this event can be.
